Mission: Episode 2 "Demons of the Past, Friends of the Future" - USS Halo
Location: Halo Board room
Timeline: Primary

The commodore sat at the head of the conference table, his face reflected in the freshly polished surface of the brand-new table.

“Gentlemen, and madam. As I am sure you all know, Vice Admiral Reacher is currently heading back to headquarters for reasons I am not at liberty to disclose. He has left me in charge of the mission, and Captain House has the con of the Halo as per regulation.”

He leaned back in his chair, lacing his fingers together and steepling his index fingers, the black leather of his gloves creaking as they tightened around his odd-shaped hands. His eye glared over the table’s occupants.

“As you well know,” he continued, “this planet seems to have a mighty fine hankering for Romulan scientists and intelligence agents. I would hate to learn what it thinks of the taste of Federation officers. So—what is it we have learned from orbital scans? Commander Cormac? Captain Dean? Thoughts?”

He ended his statement and moved the tips of his steepled fingers to his bottom lip, awaiting their response.

Situs suppressed a yawn with his hand and turned his PADD off. "I have have spent the entire day turning down requests of people who want to join the away team. Everyone thinks its their ticket to some grand discovery. That said the people I did assign on the ground team have very promising careers ahead of them. It would be very nice if the Romulans didn't stab them or vaporize them on sight. Speaking of, this is supposed to be a joint operation, yet I see no Romulan representative on board. Why is that sir?"

"The Romulans have determined that, given the circumstances, the providing of information is 'joint' enough for them. They are busy rebuilding a civilizations after all, with the assistance of the Vulcans and now the whole federation." The Commodore replied then awaited the next department to chime in.

Dean chimed in next, "There is the one thing of note, this very well could be the other faction of the Romulan's that would be fine with our presence since the destruction. Since at the least we know that they do gravitate to the planet from time to time, we should be ready to expect there possibly be a cloaked ship in orbit. I assume we're going to see why an uninhabited planet would be so interesting."

"The reports say the site was explored a few times by academics but nothing was noted....but then again, thats from official Roman files...unofficially we have no idea whats down there. I reccomend having a 24 hour combat space patrol of fighters on station at all times when we arrive...just to be safe." LT Fallo offered. He was new aboard the Halo having beem temporarily reassigned from the Chrono. He was an experienced Chief of Flight Ops though, having spent time in fighters and on ships equipped with fighters. But the shear size of the flight group aboard made the task daunting. They had around 100 fighters/bombers aboard and wjole slate of specialized aux vessels including severap large and capable Runabouts. In a twist of fate caused by Starfleets fixation with 'positional' authority outranking actual rank, Lt Fallo was actuslly in charge of the CAG who was a Commander, though both were technically on the senior staff.

Cdr Tom 'Plunger' Green was the CAG, and was seated next to Fallo on the meeting. "I had a deployment plan and patrol schedule ready anticpating exactly that Lt" Tom nodded at Falla, having no ill will about the younger Lt being officially above him in the pecking order. He was more concerned with playing practical jokes on his friends and family, and molding the finest fighter group in the federation then worrying about 'rank politics'.

Parton then layed out the away team assignments, they woukd beam down in 3 waves. And each wave would have its own security detail just to be save. After some more detailed scans from orbit when they arrived, the precise beam down locations would be pin pointed.
