Episode 2 "Demons of the Past, Friends of the Future" - USS Halo
Location: Cetacean Ops Halo
Timeline: Present day
Delphis was not working, more of swimming around, trying not to work. He chose to bug Bill. "Bill! Have you read the briefing The Admiral sent out?!"
"Shut the fuck up, dude! I'm doing warp calcs, you want me to fly us into a boulder, bruh!" Bill squeaked as he was doing warp bubble and navigational calculations, but he was also just trying to tease his buddy a bit. They were actually calculations for the next leg of the trip and not the current one.
Bill softened his squeaks to a conversational tone to signal he was kidding and said, "And also, yes, I did read it. Why? What about it?"
"One quit being fucking rude, you smurf colored dummy. Two, Why are we worried bout a Romulan Dig anyway?" Delphis asked and did a backflip in the water.
"Cuz the curious humanoid officer types always like poking around and exploring stuff, bro...they haven't had their enlightenment yet. They dont know that the secret to living well is playing games, getting drunk, and connecting with loved ones like we do. A couple thousand more years and the humans might get their...dunno about them Vulcans though, for a species that claim the IDIC motor they sure are ornery fucks." Bill said.
Petty Officer 1st Class Olivia Ponton entered the Cetacean Ops with blonde hair all up and ready to work, and went to the nearest station. She was the only one in Cetacean Ops besides the two Lts.
"Shh shhh, be cool, I like this one....Heeeey, Olivia, ready for a fun day of work, girl?" He squeaked at Ponton, whose job it was to do all the work the dolphins could do with their flippers on noses.
"Why, cause she's a blonde?" Delphis replied and dived deeper.
"Shut up, dude," Bill growled in a whisper.
"Hey, how's the water feeling today, Bill?" Olivia asked
"Oh yeah, girl, it's awesome, you wanna come for a little swim after your shift?" Bill said like an excited teenager. He flung off his waterproof headset and swam over to the edge of the large pool and struck what he thought was a saucy pose, leaning against the rim of the pool with his flipper.
"I don't see why not. It seems like Delphis is scared of people." Olivia said with a laugh.
"He's scared, he's just anti-social....unlike me. So uh, yeah...wanna cross catalog those calculations I just sent you...and then could you uh maybe find our beach ball. I Think It's over there in that corner, we lost it last night." Said Bill
"Sure, let me guess, Delphis hit too hard again?" Olivia asked Bill as she set the paddle aside and walked over to the corner, grabbed the ball, and tossed it back into the water for them.
"Yeah, too bad he can't keep the ball in the pool. My magnificent defense probably had something to do with it. He rose out of the watcher and flapped his head around and wiggled his head to emphasize his mobility.
Olivia laughed. "Well, my shift ends in about an Hour, how about I stop by afterward?"
Bill squeaked and wiggled back and forth in excitement. He tried to sound unfazed, though, "Cool."
"You know I would like to get some sleep, but oh no, you had to get the Humans to come swim, messing up the water!" Deplhis told Bill.
"What? Lt. Dish has cute feet. You can't tell me I'm wrong...if you wanna go to bed, go to bed." Bill squeaked, motioning his head to the underwater tunnel that led to their sleeping quarters.
Olivia entered wearing a black two-piece swimsuit, Ready to get some swimming exercise in. "Hey Bill, how's it going?"
"Uh, wha..yooo...hey," he said as he struck what he hoped was a seductive pose. He flicked his tail at Delphis, signalling for him to get out of there and leave the 2 potential love birds alone.3
Olivia entered the pool and dove real quick and then came back up. "How was the rest of your shift?"
"Great...yeah...it was good. The calculations were...easy..." he couldn't help but fawn over her. Bill was crushing on Olivia so hard his flipper slipped on the edge of the pool. His suave pose ended with him slipping and tumbling awkwardly into the pool.
Olivia laughed and looked to Bill. “You good?”
After swimming around in circles for a bit to get over his embarrassment, he resurfaced, "Oh yeah...yeah yeah all good"
Olivia twirled and dived down and father down. Then did a few flips in the water and resurfaced.
