Mission:
Episode 1 "Operation Iron Justice" USS Halo, Star Base 113, USS Vigilance
Location: USS Halo
Timeline: MD-3
((Sickbay, Halo))
Lt. Bill, the tsiopsidea dolphin and ship Head of Cetacean Operations hovered into sickbay on his flipper mounted repulsors and let out some quick sharp squeeks.
"I need a doc over here, I split myself open something fierce." He waited as he plopped himself down on a bio bed clearly dripping blood from a long laceration visible on his left rear flank area.
Lt. JG Eska was the senior medical officer on duty, and Bill hollered at her, "I messed myself up good doc....oooch, ahhh, it stings."
Eska was blinking at what she was seeing. Which she didn't know what it was, but it made her forget that Lieutenant Tavik just gave her a chewing about her reports less then an hour ago, about her. She moved over to, the male dolphin.
"Happen how?" Eska simply asked as she pulled her tricorder to start treatment.
"We had finished the first round of calculations for a project we were working on, a we were celebrating with a quick game of snout volleyball, and I went up for a wicked tail spike and I landed on the edge of the pool deck. Am I dying doc? It feels like I'm bleeding out. I'm starting to see stars."
"Life still. Is cut bad." Eska said in her native Novan speech. Even though she spoke simply, she was already at work on the cut on the flank of the Dolphin, or as his recorders stated he was.
Bill was beginning to think he was actually dying. He wasn't familiar with the Novan language, and thought he was becoming delirous and the words were getting jumbled in his own head.
"Oh lordy, it's bad, I knew it. Save me doc, I'm too young to die...plus I just got Lt. Dish to agree to go on a date with me tomorrow night! She's a 10 Doc, a 10, I never been on a date with a 10 before." As the dolphin leaned over and looked as the doc and his wounds, he noticed that the bloodflow had already been staunched and Eska was working on closing the wound.
Eska sighed as she attempted to calm herself. "You are fine, and will live." She said slowly.
"Oh well thats good then." The dolphin finally relaxed as he layed there on his side on the biobed.
"Is Lt. Dish like you?" Eska asked in her slow speech.
"I mean we dig the same music and she laughs at my corny jokes...but no, she's not a dolphin, she's human." Bill replied.
"Music? Jokes?" Eska simply asked lowly and slowly.
'Oh yeah, the Halo's a big ship, we got a great nightclub and lounge scene, even got a little concert hall onboard. And my jokes are usually pretty crude." As Bill noticed that the Doctor had stopped working on him, he tried stretching his flipper and noticed the swinging pain was gone.
"Healed are you." Eska said a little to quickly. Then she spoke more slowly. "Aware the ship is large, still new to this culture."
"Well, if you ever want to go for a drink, or come down to cetacean ops for a swim, you just me know Doc. I owe you one. Thanks." Bill flicked on his repulsor cradle and went towards entrance to Sickbay.
"Hey, where's you're accent from? I don't recognize it." He stopped and turned back to Doctor Eska.
"Novan, be I." Eska said quickly, looking up from her cleaning up the area that Dolphin was laying.
"Cool, you're the first one I've ever met. Well, thanks for everything Doc Eska, call me maybe" Bill squeeked as he waved at the Terra Novan who had just saved his life before exiting the Sickbay.
Eska stared at where the dolphin was just at. She was very confused by the.... man. She shook her head, and went back to her clean up.
