| General Overview | Joseph is typical of most Doctors in all respects, not in the best shape physically, and increasingly cynical about a few things, following the Frontier Day fiasco his cynicism has been fueled more by with the death of his brother who died while trying to escape the attack on Stardock. | Ambitions | Joseph is counting the days until his service term is up, he’s had it with the bureaucratic mess, the constant paranoia of several officers he’s met have just fueled that need to leave, he’s debated resigning but considering his post starfleet ambitions that would be a bad move professionally. |

| Personal History | (Born 2367) Joseph’s ambitions early on were fueled by stories of such greats like Doctor Lenard McKoy and Julian Bashir and their exploits while they were in starfleet. Throughout his youth he made every single effort to have not only decent grades but the grades that would get him in to a medical school of his choosing. (2384) By Age 17 That dream was within reach, he’d been accepted to medical school near his home town. His education proved to be arduous and demanding physically and mentally, he’d managed to find outlets to keep himself focused and to unwind after several mentally demanding situations. (2391) At age 24 he’d graduated from medical school with a specialty in internal medicine and diagnostics. He was offered a slot at Starfleet medical where he could broaden his skills and knowledge while fulfilling his internship requirements. While he found the work stimulating, having his brother in Starfleet added to his stress as he’d see a revolving door of young officers who’d been horribly maimed on dangerous missions as he progressed though a number of postings over the next 10 years. Arriving in the aftermath of Frontier Day Joseph found himself looking at the carnage with a mix of anger and cynical disbelief. It got added too when a pair of medics brought the broken and shattered body of his brother who’d been injured in the early phase of the borg attack on earth. Despite his best efforts his brother died, the loss left him broken and angry. Joseph took a six month leave of absence that wound up running into 2403, where he’d been cleared to return to duty, he found himself initially going through the motions, even as he prepared to head out on his first shipboard assignment it was with a goal in mind, leaving. |
