Physical Description		Leor D'an Herys has a stern look on his reddish-brown face. Flecks of grey have begun to show throughout his facial hair while not yet appearing on top. His eyes are slightly squinted, with thick eyebrows. Standing at full height he is almost six-feet tall, though he slouches ever so slightly due to back problems. Not overly muscular, Leor has a strong core and legs from being an avid runner. Despite being half-Bajoran, he does not exhibit the ridges that normally appear on the noses of Bajorans. In almost every physical attribute, his appearance is almost entirely human, but a medical scan would show the difference.

Personality & Traits

General Overview		Leor is a laid back and easy-going person. He tries to be accommodating as much as possible, allowing others to have their say before he chooses a position so as to be as informed as he can be. He is creative and loves to express it in a multitude of ways, his favorite being in art, namely in graphic design. Generally stoic, Leor is always up for a good conversation, though he can appear to be disinterested because of having chronic RBF (resting bitch face). Like anyone in a new setting, he tends to keep to himself, being picky about who he includes in his close circle of friends, leading him to rely heavily on those he already knows, namely his cousin who left Starfleet Academy early, never finishing. Leor is close with this cousin, using him as a springboard for ideas frequently.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Leor is good with puzzles and things that require research, going so far as to find the original source of a topic or the first edition of information to be as accurate as possible. His RETENTION of this knowledge is short-lived, however, due to his memory being somewhat unreliable. Though intelligent and capable as a Starfleet Officer, he does tend to be gullible from time to time. Not dumb by any stretch of the imagination, he is occasionally duped into believing in wildly improbable things because the idea sounds interesting. He is a natural astrogation officer, finding flight controls easy and never hesitates to accept flight duties outside his normal ones. He is also skilled in writing detailed security notes, having served as a security officer for 10+ years prior to the conn. He took the Klingon language course at the Academy, but had to drop it because his retention of the information was lacking. He did enjoy learning about the culture of the Klingons though. Leor never makes off-the-cuff decisions, preferring to take time and give careful thought to his choices, which can lead to seemingly being a procrastinator. This can get him in trouble with deadlines. Even though he likes to think about his decisions, he does tend to judge people quickly, which can lead to him coming to wrong conclusions about his peers. This is why he tends to keep to himself, preferring isolation and solitude when not on duty. Anxiety can effect him on occasion, which can also keep him from making connections with his fellow crewmates. A back injury nearly 20 years earlier also keeps him from doing more physical jobs and is directly responsible for his departure from the Security team and into astrogation. He once tried to lift a heavy construction tube and still deals with back pain, though it is manageable. His divorce from his now ex-wife causes emotional pain, as she was granted sole-custody of their now 11 year old daughter, Maitland. He sees his daughter at regular intervals, but feels as if he should have more, frequently requesting to have her join him on his assignments for lengths of time, but his ex-wife deems it a danger to their child's safety more often than naught. This has made Leor apprehensive to getting back in the dating game, fearing to make the same mistakes with his choice of a partner all over again and compounding his struggles.
Ambitions		Leor would like to live closer to his daughter on Earth one day, or be assigned somewhere closer. Not concerned with rising through the ranks, he just wants to be able to serve where the need is and be the least squeaky wheel when problems arise. He thinks that by providing a good example for his daughter as to how an officer of Starfleet can serve he may be able to undo all the negative things his ex-wife says about him to her. Worf, his personal hero, is a big inspiration to Leor, and one day hopes to either meet him or his son Alexander if possible. Other than his daughter, Leor joined Starfleet because he believes in the hopeful nature of its goals, literally just wanting to be another pillar to help hold up the Federation so it runs smooth and continues as long as it can.
Hobbies & Interests		Leor is an artist, enjoying the way logos and symbols are made. He loves other languages and the way they are written or recorded, either in stone, on paper, or just their aesthetic appearance. He enjoys reading about the archaeological findings from the planets throughout the galaxy - but only from the comfort of his armchair. Archeology is interesting, but he does not want to visit the places he reads about. Leor collects action figurines and enjoys assembling models of fictional and historical characters and vehicles. Better if they are all pre-painted as he hates painting figurines.

Personal History		Leor finished basic schooling in 2380 and decided to take a few years off to find his calling. He sat for two years and did essentially nothing, until finally deciding to apply to Starfleet Academy at the age of 20. He finished his education and training at 24 in 2386, where he was assigned to a Starfleet construction warehouse. In time he met his now ex-wife, and they wed in 2388, having their only child in 2390. That same year he was assigned to security at Starbase 220 near the Neutral Zone (right next to Calder) where he became an Ensign. Then, in 2398 after ten years of turmoil and fighting, he and his wife were divorced. This was the year he managed to get out of security and shift over to astrogation and being assigned to serve aboard the USS Indiana. He stayed with the USS Indiana for two years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Finally, in 2402, Leor was accepted to the USS Halo.
Service Record		2392: The Security Captain of Starbase 220 - a Lurian (Morn from DS9) - had taken ill and needed to have emergency surgery. With no first officer available to take over his responsibilities, Leor was asked to serve as "acting" Security Supervisor. These duties included assigning a duty roster, maintaining attendance records, preparing for dignitary and special arrivals to the Starbase, attending special events during heightened periods of activity, delegating various forms of discipline to crew, validating shuttle parking, and maintaining a long list of active and inactive members who worked or lived on the Starbase. When the Security Captain returned two months later, after what was supposed to have been only two weeks, he promoted Leor to Ensign as a sign of gratitude and in recognition to his dedication to the Starbase and Starfleet as a whole. 2401: While serving aboard the USS Indiana, Leor found himself working the Delta shift on the bridge. This was a dull posting as all the action predominantly happened during Alpha shift. Long hours led to Leor looking into remote classes he could take to further his education within Starfleet. After nearly six months of taking almost every class he could find and passing all quizzes and exams, gaining well over 30 certificates of completion or qualification, the Captain of the USS Indiana promoted Leor to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Still working on Delta shift however, Leor applied to several other ships in the fleet, finally being accepted to the USS Halo in 2402.
